HCSF benchmark · 35%
How should the result be read?
The French HCSF sets, in principle, a maximum mortgage effort ratio of 35%, meaning the ratio between borrowing charges and income. Lenders still apply their own underwriting criteria and have a regulated flexibility margin. A result below 35% is therefore never a loan approval, and a result above 35% does not automatically mean that no solution can be considered.
